The history of the Pontiac brand goes all the way back to 1907. The original name of the company was the Oakland Car Company. General Motors purchased the company in 1909 and introduced the first Pontiac brand name car in 1926. In 1985, Pontiac introduced the first Fiero GT. The Fiero GT was manufactured from 1985 to 1988.
