- 1). Use the uninstall feature provided on your computer to uninstall the McAfee Bonus Pack first. With McAfee Bonus Pack, uninstall by going to the Start menu, selecting All Programs, selecting the McAfee Bonus Pack folder to open it, choosing Uninstall from the list of options and following the instructions.
- 2). Get into the registry of your computer by clicking "Start" and selecting All Programs, then Accessories, then Run on newer versions of Windows, like Vista and 7. On older versions of Windows click "Start" and select Run. The Run box will open on the screen.
- 3). Type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) into the Run box and press "Enter." The system registry editor will launch.
- 4). Navigate to the folder that contains the McAfee Bonus Pack product keys. To get to the McAfee folder click the folder labeled HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the left-hand pane of the registry editor. Then follow this path: SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Uninstall.
- 5). Scroll through the registry keys that display in the right-hand pane of the registry editor window. Find the C4BA56E6-3DA9-4454-AD39-81FB11810984 key in the list.
- 6). Right-click the C4BA56E6-3DA9-4454-AD39-81FB11810984 key. Choose Delete from the options in the menu and then click "Yes" when asked to confirm the operation. The key will be removed from the registry and McAfee will no longer be able to reinstall itself.
