A Guide for Creating the Proper Skin Care Routine

There are so many different kinds of skin care routines that are being promoted these days that it can be quite confusing to figure out which one would really be beneficial for your skin.
The truth is that there is no single most effective skin care routine because each individual has a different type of skin and thus requires a unique type of routine for caring for the skin.
The best way to find the best skin care routine is to develop one yourself depending on the requirements of your skin.
It doesn't necessarily have to involve the use of expensive derma treatments or beauty products.
All that you really need to do is to ensure that your skin gets the protection and nourishment it needs to stay beautiful and healthy.
The most important tip to follow when creating a skin care routine is to keep it simple.
Overly complicated procedures are not practical at all, especially if you have a very busy schedule.
Ideally, it should only require a few minutes in the morning and another few minutes at night, plus the occasional special treatment once or twice a month.
Daily Cleansing Cleanliness of the skin should be the top priority when it comes to the daily routine.
Make sure to remove all dirt and excess oils using a mild natural cleanser.
Use lukewarm water for washing your face and dab it gently with a soft towel to dry.
After thoroughly cleaning your face, apply some astringent with a cotton ball and finish off with a light moisturizer.
This simple routine should be done twice a day - once in the morning before you put on your makeup and once at night before going to sleep.
You can choose a different moisturizer for nighttime use, which could be somewhat heavier so that it can work overnight and leave your skin feeling rejuvenated upon waking up in the morning.
Weekly Exfoliation Aside from the regular cleansing that you give your skin every day, you should also exfoliate at least once a week.
Some women do this daily, but that is too much and can cause more harm than good to the skin.
Exfoliating weekly, however, is ideal.
When done properly, this process will get rid of your dead skin cells and allow the younger, healthier skin to come forth.
Monthly Facial Masks Once or twice a month, you should treat yourself to a special skin care routine that will ensure the health, beauty and young glow of your skin.
One of the procedures that you should do is to put on a facial mask made of honey and egg whites, which is very effective for clearing out and tightening your pores.
The overall effect of these masks is to make your skin much firmer, softer and clearer.
Aside from these daily, weekly and monthly regimes, you will also need to take some precautions so that you can protect your skin from the harmful effects of frequent exposure to the elements.
For example, if you plan on spending the day outdoors, be sure to wear the necessary protective covering.
If it is sunny, wear a wide-brimmed hat and dark glasses to protect your skin against the UV rays of the sun.
If it is freezing cold, make sure your skin is adequate protected from the chilly temperature by layering on some extra moisturizer.
You should also never go out without applying some sunblock, especially if you are planning to stay outdoors for a long time.
Just make sure to wash off these sunblocks immediately after going back indoors because even these protective products also contain ingredients that may be harmful for your skin.
It is easy to see that one doesn't really have to spend so much time and waste exorbitant amounts of money just to keep the skin healthy, young and beautiful.
Just make sure to stay clean and protected and you will have gorgeous skin for many years to come.
