Honda Dream Yuga - The Dream Machine

It was in 2010 when Honda and Hero parted ways in their two-wheeler joint venture.
But things have changed quite dramatically since then.
Honda has now got its Dream Series bikes to take on the models launched by Hero years ago.
Honda Dream Yuga was launched in 2012 as a 110 cc bike at a time when the company's top bike brands continue to be the Unicorn and Shine.
Though the statistics in the two-wheeler space insist the Dream Yuga is yet to make a considerable impact, Honda is confident that the sales of the Dream series are on an upward curve.
The Honda Dream Yuga is considered to be a scaled down version of the Honda CB Shine.
The head lamp resembles the CB Shine, but is smaller in size.
The front mud guard is longer and gives that premium look.
The petrol tank has been made larger for thigh support.
The rear fender is longer and narrower with the name imprinted on it.
The exhaust gets a sleeker look and has a better looking heat shield painted in black.
The side panels look different from those on the CB Shine.
On the other hand, the red Honda badge on the engine casing and the 3D emblem on the tank are missing.
The rest like the rear mud guard, turn indicators, rear view mirrors, and the tail lights are identical to the CB Shine.
The Honda Dream Yuga is powered by a 109 cc single cylinder four stroked air cooled engine that produces 8.
25 bhp of peak power output at 7500 rpm and 8.
91 Nm of maximum torque output at 5500 rpm.
The engine is powered by a technology called the 'intelligent ignition' which makes the engine fully transistorized.
The engine is smooth and refined.
The transmission is manual constant mesh gearbox which contains 4 gears.
The fuel tank size is 8 L and the bike provides 72 kmpl overall mileage and 570 km mileage range.
Top speed featured by Dream Yuga is 97 kmh.
The Dream Yuga can accelerate from 0-60 kmph speed in just under 8 seconds.
Rear brake is adequate and does most of the job effortlessly.
There is no disc brake option, though.
The ride quality is made excellent on a pair of 18" wheels and the turn in is crisp and the manoeuvrability is premium.
The seat position is upright, and the wider handles give that proper commuter feel.
The foot pegs are placed at comfortable height for both the rider and the pillion.
The instrument cluster has simple round dials with the speedometer and fuel gauge.
The Honda Dream Yuga comes at a higher price range of Rs 43,848 to 48,088.
