How to Mitre Cut Crown Molding

    • 1). Set the powered mitre saw at the horizontal angle at which you wish to make the cut. For example, if you are cutting a corner, you would set the saw at a 45 degree horizontally by swiveling the base of the saw.

    • 2). Set the powered mitre saw at the vertical angle at which you wish to make the cut. For example, if you are cutting a corner, you would set the saw at a 45 degree vertical angle by swiveling the saw piece itself.

    • 3). Place the crown molding you want to cut on the mitre saw so that the blade is right over the place where you want to make the cut.

    • 4). Hold the crown molding in place securely with one hand and pull the blade down into the molding until its cut through the piece entirely then push the blade back up away from the molding.
