- 1). Disconnect the negative lead on the car battery---the black one. Determine a good mounting position---the amplifier generates heat. Under the front passenger seat works, and so does the car trunk.
- 2). Mount the amplifier. Drill holes and mount the amplifier with the included screws. Avoid trim panels, carpets and anywhere air can't circulate.
- 3). Connect the main power wire to the battery through the fuse block. Connect the ground terminal, making this wire as short as you can. Connect the ground to chassis sheet metal with a ring terminal. Check for proper gauge in your amplifier user guide. Get a really good connection by scraping away paint.
- 4). Connect the speakers. Follow the labeling. Use the recommended gauge speaker wire. Check the amplifier's user guide. Connect the input wiring. The input wiring runs from the car stereo head to the amplifier.
- 5). Turn all the amplifier settings to their minimums and then re-connect the car battery.
- 6). Play a CD or other source and turn the volume up on the control unit until you just start to hear distortion. Back off the volume on the control unit a little. Increase the input level on the amplifier until you just start to hear distortion. Back the input level off a bit. The levels are now set.
- 7). Adjust the bass EQ, low pass filter (LPF) and other controls on the amplifier, following the specifications of your subwoofer (speakers)---and more importantly, your own ears.
