Although there are many brides who don't necessarily care what their bridesmaids hairstyles look like, there are others who like uniformity among her attendants. When picking out hairstyles for your bridesmaids there are a few things that should be kept in mind: don't have their styles the same as the bride, keep it simple and keep it looking elegant.

Accessorize the Hair

Give your bridesmaids a little freedom with their hair. What can be required is their hair be down and it has to have some kind of accessory. What accessory is up to you: they can all have the same accessory; for example, they can all wear headbands, but each has different style of headband; or they can all pick out something different from one another. With the hair down done in long, loose curls or straightened, the accessory will add a little sparkle, color or drama.

A simple, yet chic bun always looks good. The chignon bun is done low, at the base of the head. The hair is pulled together in a bun form, then wrapped around the bun to give is a woven look. This look is very formal without being over-the-top. Even girls with shorter hair can have their hair done "up" in the bun. For a touch of color, have each girl wear a simple crystal barrette on the side of their bun.

The side ponytail is gaining a lot of popularity on the red carpet. Once a very casual style, the side pony is now being worn at award ceremonies by celebrities and at weddings by brides and bridesmaids alike. This look can also easily be done without the help of a professional stylist if you're looking to cut down the budget. Sweep the hair to one side of the head, securing it with a regular barrette. Fold the remaining hair over the barrette, securing with bobby pins. The barrette will be concealed and the side pony will look twisted from the back. Add a little curl the ponytail to complete the look.
