      Snowmobiling during the winter months can be an exciting, albeit dangerous pastime--for the adrenaline junkies who take part in the activity, however, the risk is well worth the reward. In an attempt to eliminate the danger of the sport and bring the excitement right to your own computer, game developers have been hard at work creating titles that appeal to all types of gamers. Luckily for PC owners, many of these snowmobile simulation games are available for Windows XP.

    Ski-Doo X-Team Racing

    • Released in North America on February 8, 2006, "Ski-Doo X-Team Racing" provides exciting single and multiplayer action on PCs operating Windows 98 SE, 2000 or XP. Developed by Revolution Software, "Ski-Doo X-Team Racing" features authentic Ski-Doo snowmobiles, 18 detailed race tracks and a world-wide ranking system. 6 different difficulty levels make "Ski-Doo X-Team Racing" accessible by any type of gamer yet challenging enough for even the most hardcore of players.

    Sno-Cross Extreme

    • Released in March of 2002 and available exclusively for the PC, "Sno-Cross Extreme" provides gamers with a realistic snowmobile racing experience. "Sno-Cross Extreme" features authentic Yamaha snowmobiles that range in speed from 500cc to 700cc, realistic physics and lifelike crashes. Race tracks are equipped with day and night cycles and also feature variable weather patterns. A total of four interchangeable camera angles give players the option of watching each race from a variety of viewpoints, including one straight from the cockpit of the sled. "Sno-Cross Extreme" was developed by Groove Games and has been rated "E for Everyone" by the Electronic Software Rating Board.

    Whiteout

    • Released in December of 2002, "Whiteout" is an arcade-style snowmobile simulator that was developed and published by Konami. Virtual snowmobiles equipped with 900cc engines propel you through the game's detailed, 3D environments, allowing you to play through the careers of top Sno-Cross athletes from all around the world. "Whiteout" has been rated "T for Teen" by the Electronic Software Rating Board and can be played on Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME and XP.

    Snowmobile Championship 2000

    • Originally released in November of 1999, "Snowmobile Championship 2000" is a snowmobile racing simulator that was developed by Second South Studios and published by GT Interactive Software. Compete against four other drivers through 8 realistic race tracks, including courses located in Canada, Maine, Yellowstone Park and the Scottish Highlands. Practice Mode lets you explore each track on your own before competing in the race for first place. "Snowmobile Championship 2000" has been rated "E for Everyone" by the Electronic Software Rating Board.
