- 1). Register to vote and exercise your privilege. This is the most important way that you can get involved in the presidential election. Consider your vote the best way to have your voice heard. If you’re not registered to vote yet, sign up in time for the next election so your opinion can matter.
- 2). Listen to the presidential and vice presidential debates, along with candidate interviews. This is a great way for you to hear what the candidates have to say, instead of just reading and hearing whatever the media puts out into the world. You can hear the words directly from the candidates in regards to what they stand for and believe in and how they plan on being better than their predecessor.
- 3). Have political discussions. You may be curious as to how this has anything to do with getting involved. When you have discussions about the presidential candidates, you may learn new things that you didn’t know before. Also, you could end up enlightening someone else of information that they didn’t already know of. Discussions are a healthy way of bringing personal political concerns to light. Being informed and informing others is one of the most important ways that you can get involved in the presidential election.
- 4). Volunteer for the candidate of your choice. If you visit the website of the candidate that you believe in, you can contact the campaign to get specific information on what opportunities are available. Some of the volunteering may include helping to register voters, making phone calls or holding a fundraising event.
- 5). Donate money to a candidate’s campaign. There are several ways that you can go about doing this. One includes a direct donation to the campaign in whatever dollar amount that you choose. A second way is to check if you can purchase items on the candidate’s website. Make sure that you know where the money is going on that particular product or products, as sometimes the money does not go to the campaign at all. The third way is to attend a fundraiser. Ticket prices range depending on who is holding it and where it is.
