The Nintendo Wii - A Pioneering Tale!

No one is hiding the fact that the Nintendo Wii is a giant step forward in the way gaming consoles are designed and played.
It has expanded the brains of both game designers and game players across the world.
Everyone is now dreaming of superior interactive video game systems! Although virtual reality is still something fairly new and in the works, the Nintendo Wii will surely be noted as an innovative stepping stone to its progress.
Nintendo's Wii console was envisioned in 2001, preceding the release of the Nintendo GameCube.
Before its release, the company was rather mysterious about the new development and the statements which were released were short, unveiling and had many people wondering what the eldest of gaming had brewing.
It ended up taking nearly two years for Nintendo and game designer Shigeru Miyamoto to finally put the complete gaming system together.
They uncovered the Nintendo Wii controller to the public at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
At that time, they also made an announcement claiming that they had many issues and hours of trouble shooting to finish before introducing the entire working Wii console.
Toward the end of that year, the president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, demonstrated the games functions and ground-breaking interactive game style at the Tokyo Game Show.
Once the gaming system was finally released and made available to the public there was as much gossip about the company's choice of name as there was about the game itself.
Nintendo said the name was inspired by the idea of multi-player fun.
They continued to describe its name choice by saying that the two lower case letter "i" represented two people standing side-by-side.
Some people feared that the system would not be taken seriously because the name "Wii" sounded childish and sales would suffer because people would think that the gaming system was primarily for children and young teens.
It goes without saying that all the speculators were very wrong and the Nintendo Wii continues to be one of the top selling consoles in the history of home video games.
The Nintendo Wii is a breakthrough in gaming technology, and is the result of years of hard work and ingenious thinking, but it is also what we call "fun!" So let's all shout "Wii!" For more information on Nintento Wii consoles and games, please visit Nintendo Wii Here
