Preparing Recipe of Chicken Enchiladas and Honey Fried Chicken at Home

Most of the non-vegetarian food is prepared using chicken. It is an all time favorite as there are so many ways to prepare it. Fried chicken tops the list of favorites. Here are some easy recipes.

A simple recipe

Here is a honey fried chicken recipe which is very simple and easy to make. The ingredients required for it are - 8 to 10 pieces of chicken, half cup honey, pepper and salt to taste, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 2 cups of all purpose flour and 2 cups of vegetable oil for frying.

Direction for honey fried chicken recipe: Wash the chicken pieces and coat them with pepper, salt and honey. Let it marinate for about 2 hours. Mix together garlic powder and flour. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour coating it properly. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan and fry these pieces. Remove when cooked and drain. Your honey fried chicken is ready.

Tips to fry chicken

Frying chicken at home is quite easy. There are many simple fried chicken recipes available. Following a few tips will help in making excellent fried chicken at home. Some of the simple fried chicken recipe tips are as follows - 1- If possible use a fryer to fry the chicken. Fryer will maintain the temperature of the oil and the frying will be evenly done. 2- Use an instant read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken which should read 165 degrees F. By using this thermometer you will not have to puncture the chicken to see if it is cooked. Puncturing the chicken will make it loose its juices and will dry out the chicken. 3- Drain the fried chicken in a colander. Do not use paper towels to soak up the grease. 4- Dip the pieces in water or buttermilk before breading. Following these tips will help to dish out excellent fried chicken at home.

Try out a Mexican delicacy at home

There are many recipes for chicken enchiladas. It is basically a Mexican delicacy which is quite filling and tasty. The ingredient for the recipe for chicken enchiladas is as follow- 2 cups of chopped chicken, a few chopped green chilies, 8 inches flour tortillas; 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 medium onion chopped, 1 tablespoon butter, half cup sour cream and 1 can of condensed cream of chicken soup.

Method- Heat butter in a pan and add onion and chili powder and cook till tender. Add chicken and chilies. Mix soup and sour cream. Add 2 tablespoons of the soup mixture to the chicken and cook. Spread half cup soup mixture in a shallow baking tray. Spoon One by four cup chicken in the center of the tortillas and roll it. Place them seam side down in the baking tray and pour the remaining soup mix over the tortillas and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F. Your chicken enchiladas are ready.
