- 1). Click the "Spy Sweeper" icon in the system tray. Click "Stop Sweep" in the window that opens to cancel any sweep that is already running. If this will not cancel the sweep, continue to the next step.
- 2). Right-click the "Spy Sweeper" icon in your system tray. Click "Shut Down" in the window that opens. This completely shuts down all Spy Sweeper operations. If this does not cancel the sweep, move to the next step.
- 3). Press "Alt," "Ctrl" and "Delete" at the same time. Click "Start Task Manager" in the window that opens. Click the "Processes" tab and scroll down to "Spy Sweeper." Right-click the link and select "End Process." If this does not cancel the sweep, continue to the next step.
- 4). Click "Start" and select "Shut Down" if no action you perform cancels Spy Sweeper. You may have a problem with your computer. This action will stop all running programs.
