- 1). Lift the mower deck up to inspect the mower blade auger. Check for any debris that may be clogging the auger. If the auger does not spin, the motor will never turn over. Clean any debris in the way of the auger.
- 2). Remove the self-propelled motor casing. If it is a front-wheel drive, it is between the front two wheels. If it is rear-wheel drive, it is between the rear two wheels. Check for any debris such as leaves or small rocks or broken gears inside the gearbox. Remove any debris with a small screwdriver. If any of the gears need replacement, take a flat-head screwdriver and unscrew the gears. Pop the gear out and replace it with a new one.
- 3). Inspect the throttle cable for any holes or to see if it is disconnected. If it is disconnected from the motor or handlebar, screw it back in with a screwdriver.
- 4). Replace the sparkplug on the right side of the motor if it is clogged or broken. Pop out the sparkplug from the rubber hosing, using a screwdriver. Pop a new sparkplug into the slot.
