Owl crafts for very young children can be as simple as gluing feathers or coloring a simple black and white owl outline. If you have some time to prepare, you can cut out body, head, foot, eye and wing shapes from construction paper or paper plates and have the children glue them together. Include feathers to glue onto their owls or trace their handprints on to construction paper and cut them out to make the owl's wings.

Owl crafts for home decor have come a long way from the traditional macrame owl. Owl pillows are a popular sewing project, easily personalized through your choice of fabric color or texture. Small plush owl pillows can be used as a baby's stuffed animal while larger pillows make a trendy addition to your couch's throw pillows. Painted owls, owls cut out from felt or owls stamped on canvas are all basic crafts that can be used as wall hangings. Advanced needle workers can even crochet or hook an owl shaped rug.

Owl crafts can liven up any party. For a Harry Potter-themed party, tie the invitation to a white helium balloon and draw an owl on the balloon for a quick Hedwig the owl craft you can deliver to your guests' doorsteps. Paper cut out owls glued to wooden craft sticks are a crafty cupcake topper, and basic felt owl shapes stuffed and sewn together can be used as centerpieces.
