- 1). Remove the screen from the window by lifting up and pulling out the bottom section first. Lay the screen down where it can be measured. Measure the length and width of the window frame from the outside of the frame. Cut the aluminum frame with tin snips to the height measured. Cut two equal pieces for the width.
- 2). Lay the pieces down on a flat surface in the shape of the window. Roll the screen over the frame so it overlaps on every side. Put the first piece of spline in a bottom corner of the screen and roll it into the groove of the frame. Be careful not to push too hard because the screen may break. Roll over the first side of the frame in this manner and then continue on to the next side.
- 3). Run the spline over every side of the frame and make sure it is properly secured in. Push down once finished with a screwdriver to ensure it is properly intact. Cut the excess screen with the other side of the spline roller. Roll it over the screen at the edge of the frame and score the screen. Remove all excess screen material.
- 4). Attach the four corner brackets to bring the frame into one piece. Snap the brackets over the frame until they latch and are secure. Check to make sure there are no holes in the screen, and that it is pulled tight and not flimsy. Insert the screen back into the window by setting the bottom end in first, and then the top end.
