Guide Review - Game Review of Puzzle Game ‘Cogitate’ for iPhone and iPod Touch
A tough test of memory, Cogitate is a flashback to Simon and similar puzzles. Each level gives a set of colored tiles, scrambles the set, and give you a time limit to recreate the pattern. Bonuses are given for quick movements as well as minimal moves. Speed is beyond a nicety, however, as any remaining seconds are transferred to the next, more difficult level, where they will probably be needed more. Sliding the rows is easy, but remembering the patterns is pretty tough – most gamers will probably have a hard time getting through the first few levels on the first try. A thorough tutorial sets up the game well, though, and the great sound gives encouragement to keep going. Heavy-handed and challenging, Cogitate isn’t for everyone’s taste, but lovers of tough puzzlers will dig it.
