Top Tips on How to Remove Ear Wax Effectively

Learning how to remove ear wax safely can mean the difference between a healthy ear drum and hearing loss.
It isn't rocket science, but if you don't do it correctly, the consequences are life altering.
Here are some tips on how to remove earwax safely and effectively.
•Using a cotton swab: When using a cotton swab or q-tip, make sure to stay on the outer ear.
Never stick the tip into your ear canal.
•Using a wash cloth: You can use a warm wash cloth and gently wipe away excess ear wax from the creases and skin in the outer ear.
Again, never push into the ear canal, as this only serves to push earwax back down causing the build up.
•Hot Water Bottle: If you think you have too much wax in your ear canal, try using a hot water bottle to lie on.
This will help to melt the wax and allow it to flow out of your canal naturally.
•Over the Counter Dissolver: You can purchase removing kits and drops that can help if you have excessive ear wax build up.
Use them only as directed in order to avoid damaging your ear drum.
Earwax is a natural substance used to protect our ear drums from bugs, infection, dirt and dust.
It flows out of the ear canal and onto the outer ear for easy removal.
Using these tips will help you learn how to remove ear wax safely.
If you have itching, slight pain or hearing loss due to the wax build up, you may want to see your physician.
Typically you can remove earwax without the help of a doctor as long as you are not experiencing any of those symptoms.
