- 1). Create the grass. For a quick green topping that will act as the base of a football field for your cookie or cookie cake, use green icing or an airbrush for the cookie.
- 2). Prepare coconut grass. Add shredded coconut to a mixing bowl with a small amount of green food coloring. Mix them together until the color has transferred to the coconut. Add more until you reach the desired color.
- 3). Apply the coconut grass. You can apply the coconut by itself or on top of the green icing so it will stay on the cookie better. This will give the cookie a more textured, realistic grassy look.
- 4). Use white icing to create yard lines. Start at the center of the cookie and, using a cut icing bag, work outwards toward the end zones, making sure to number each yard line appropriately.
- 5). Create your end zone. The color will change, depending on the specific field you are trying to replicate, but this can be done with colored icing or different colored coconut, like you used to make the grass. Use an icing bag to apply lettering in the end zone.
- 6). Make goal posts. You can use yellow pipe cleaners that are easy to bend or you can use drinking straws held together with icing. Insert the posts into the cookie behind each end zone. (reference 2)
