Picture Frames can be used all throughout your house to create dramatic effects, and to enhance your walls.

There are many different types of media that can be framed that will make your walls beautiful. In this article I will look at various types of artwork that can be framed.

1. Paintings: paintings are probably the most commonly found framed artwork throughout the world. Paintings can be done in oil paints, acrylic, watercolour, pastels, crayons, just about anything can be used to paint a painting.

2. Photos: photos would be the second most common piece that are framed. Photos can have various types of finishes but generally they are colour or black and white. Different finishes include matt or gloss.

3. Mirrors: are commonly framed now. It is not uncommon to see a large frame around a mirror hanging above a fireplace, or even in a bathroom.

4. Memorabilia: has become very popular to frame over the last 10 years. With everyone having a favourite sporting team nowadays, people like to frame their teams shirts, hats, sporting instruments, or even autographs of their favourite players.

5. 3d objects: are also very popular to frame. They look fantastic framed and the use of a deep box within the frame makes it possible to fit the deep object within the frame.

6. Stretched Canvas: has become very popular in the last few years. It is a very modern look and actually does not have a visible frame. The frame is hidden behind the canvas and what the canvas is stapled to.

7. Tapestries: are not as popular as they used to be, but still are popular amongst the older crowd.

All of these different mediums can be used have dramatic affects on your walls. Mixing different mediums can be mixed together to give interesting effects. It would be recommended to change your artwork when you feel like a change of scenery.
