Marcia L. Fudge is the mayor of Cleveland suburb, Warrensville Heights. She is a lawyer, former prosecutor, and former Chief of Staff to the late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Fudge has been chosen by the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party to run for Ms. Tubbs Jones seat in the November (2008) election.
Education:
Marcia Fudge is a graduate of Shaker Heights High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from The Ohio State University and a law degree from Cleveland State University's Cleveland Marshall College of Law.
Previous Experience:
Prior to being elected mayor in 1999, Mayor Fudge worked in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office and was Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Tubbs Jones during her first term in Congress. Fudge has also served on the Board of Trustees for the Cleveland Public Library.
Personal:
Fudge is a member and past president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and is co-chair of the organization's National Social Action Commission.
