What is it with home business owners who think that they have to do everything? And believe me, I know because I used to be one of those people.
If I couldn't do it, I'd learn how.
Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with learning new skills.
However, the idea of running your business is to make a profit...
not to be Mr.
Do-It-All.
This article is going to briefly explore this growing problem among new home business owners who think they have to wear 20 different hats to run a successful home business.
Let's start with a clear picture of just some of the basic things required to run a successful business.
This list is far from exhaustive but it's a start.
To begin with, you need a product or service.
What are you going to sell people...
air? So you need something viable, preferably something that fills a need.
If you can make it yourself, great...
but if not, there is no reason why you can't find an existing product that fills that need and sell it as an affiliate.
This is a perfectly legitimate business model.
What about if you DO create your own product or service? Well, there's more to a business than just creating a product.
You need to have some sort of way for people to get that product.
On the Internet, that means having some kind of a web site.
Hey, you can actually design your own web pages? Great! But what if you can't? Last thing you want to do is struggle through it and put up some piece of garbage.
So why not hire somebody who is an expert at web design and have THEM give you that killer site? What about advertising? Just because you have a web page doesn't mean people are going to come to it.
You need to market that web page.
There are many ways to market a product or service online.
One such way is by writing articles related to that niche and submitting them to directories.
What's that you say? You can't write? Well, so what? Why not outsource the writing to people who CAN write? Believe it or not, there are plenty of folks online who will write darn good articles for you and not charge you an arm and a leg for them.
What's that you say? You need a sales page to sell your product? You can't write salescopy to save your life? So what? Why do you have to? There are some excellent copywriters out there who will write you copy that will convert like gangbusters and get your investment back 10 times over at least.
Point I'm trying to make is this.
Just because you're not good at doing something related to your business doesn't mean you have to force yourself to do it and it doesn't mean it can't get done.
There are experts out there for just about every aspect of running your business.
Use them.
