- 1). Purchase lily bulbs at an Asian market, where they will be clearly labeled as a food product. Lily bulbs usually come in packs of two to four bulbs.
- 2). Wash the lily bulbs with tap water. You should always wash fresh produce before you eat it. Cut up the lily bulbs as you would cut an onion. Lilies look and behave like onions, so you'll end up with a pile of onion-like layers.
- 3). Put butter or oil into your frying pan and pour in your lily bulbs. Fry lily bulbs as you would fry onions: over medium heat, stirring occasionally. When the lily bulbs turn a light golden brown, it means that they're done.
- 4). Put lily bulbs in soups, over meat, in stir fry or spread over bread. Use them for a mild earthy flavor in your cooking. Store cooked lily bulbs in covered containers in the refrigerator for use in future recipes.
