Why Touch Phones Are Better Than Keypad Phones

The digital revolution has brought about many things, and in this world one must crawl before they can walk.
In the digital age crawling involves using keys and other physical interface devices that are not on the display, walking involves the use of a touch screen interface which makes things much easier.
The old technology involved bulky devices with many moving parts to operate, all sorts of buttons dials and toggles; simply too many different switches while still limiting the functionality.
Today we have palm sized touch devices that surpassed what old button press phones were capable of.
One of the major benefits of a touch phone is that there are less moving parts, less moving parts means a lower number of things that can fail.
In a traditional push button phone when one of the keys in the keypad is malfunctioning the whole unit is almost useless.
What is more is the fact that the number of moving parts including the ribbon that are exposed for these functions aggravate the situation by allowing more things to fail.
In a touch phone much less can go wrong due to the fact that all the ribbons are hidden behind the panel and the switches are built into a translucent layer.
Aside from the dependability of touch screen phones they are also easier to use as a user has to simply click with their fingers what they are looking for and the interface can be changed to make things simpler and more visually pleasing.
There are many devices coming out from China that utilize this technology in conjunction with the Android OS.
This is because the Android OS is used on a large variety of different phones and other mobile computing devices, quite simply it is the new standard.
These devices differ in what technology of touch screen they use, but for the most part the vast majority of them are using the Android OS, which is free to use on devices without the need to pay royalties.
There are two major technologies when it comes to touch screen phones resistive and capacitive.
The older technology, restrictive, utilizes two transparent layers that respond when they touch one another.
This system usually needs the use of a stylus to work correctly and can only be used with one input at a time.
Using one's fingers on a resistive touch screen is clumsy and inaccurate and can be activated with all everyday objects including ones that are not conductive.
Capacitive screens are a newer technology and are designed to be used with the human finger.
They need a conductive material (such as a human hand) to contact the screen for them to operate.
These are of higher sophistication than the old resistive systems and feature the ability of multi-touch interface.
There are many new touch phone devices coming out of China these days and most of them are now using capacitive touch technology.
With this technology a user is able to use more than one finger to control the device.
Things such as zooming can be done by pinch and spreading and long presses also are often configured as an input.
The days of the button press phone are number, quite simply anything a button press phone can do better.
