- 1). Mix equal parts of peroxide and magnesium hydroxide together. Peroxide and magnesium hydroxide are both available at pharmacies, and magnesium hydroxide is commonly called milk of magnesia.
- 2). Add corn starch to the liquid milk of magnesia and peroxide mixture 1 tsp. at a time until the mixture turns into a thick paste. This paste must be thick enough to be applied to the puppy and not run off or drip.
- 3). Apply the paste mixture to the stained areas of the puppy's face, carefully avoiding the puppy's eyes. The paste should be thick enough that it can be applied as close to the eye as possible without it running into the eye.
- 4). Allow the paste to dry overnight, and wash it off in the morning. Apply conditioner to the areas to keep the puppy's fur moisturized because the tear stain remover might dry it out.
- 5). Repeat the process as necessary until the stain is gone, but leave at least one day between tear stain removal treatments so you do not dry out the puppy's fur or skin.
