- 1). Brush your beagle gently with a rubber brush or a curry comb before bathing. Although beagles have short hair, they shed a lot. Brushing will remove large dirt particles and excess hair from your puppy.
- 2). Prepare the bath without your beagle present because running water scares some puppies. Check the water temperature with your wrist to ensure the water is warm enough without being too hot for your beagle’s sensitive skin. Set out a hypoallergenic dog shampoo and a wash cloth.
- 3). Place your dog in the bath. Either spray the dog with a detachable shower head or pour water on him from a pitcher to thoroughly wet your puppy. Massage about one tablespoon of shampoo into your beagle’s skin. Avoid getting shampoo into the puppy’s eyes. Carefully rinse your dog to remove the shampoo.
- 4). Clean the inside of your beagle’s ears with a cotton ball. Because beagles are prone to ear problems, check for any redness or bites while you gently clean their ears. Wipe his eyes with a damp wash cloth. Carefully remove the puppy and dry with a towel.
