- 1). Look over your patio to determine which pavers have lowered and need to be reset.
- 2). Remove the sunken paver from the patio and all the pavers that surround it.
- 3). Pour course, ground sand into the sunken area and level it with the higher ground.
- 4). Replace the pavers. Place a level on the pavers to see if they are sitting flat. Step back a few feet to see how the patio looks visually. If needed, remove the pavers again and make adjustments by either adding or removing sand.
- 5). Tap the pavers into the sand, gently, with a rubber mallet. Sweep sand over the pavers to fill in the gaps between the pavers. Spray the area lightly with water to settle the sand. Repeat the step until the gaps are entirely filled with sand.
