2006 Ford Stake Bed Truck Specs

    • The 2006 F350 is a three-door, three-seat, stake bed pickup truck developed by Ford Motor Company. A stake bed truck is a truck that has sockets where stakes can be fitted to support railings. This truck belongs to a range of pickup trucks called the F-series. The range began in 1948 -- one year after the death of the company's founder Henry Ford. The F-series is still in production.

    Power

    • A V-8 engine is the heartbeat of the 2006 Ford F350. All of its eight cylinders have a bore of 3.5 inches and a piston stroke of 4.2 inches. The engine has a displacement of 330 cubic inches, which is the volume of the space in which a piston moves in every stroke. It also has a 9.0:1 compression ratio. Fuel is delivered via an injection system. An oil reservoir is built into the engine for lubrication. There are 24 valves in total. A maximum power output of 300 horsepower at a rate of 5,000 rpm is produced, as is 365.1 pound-feet of torque at 3,750 rpm. A manual transmission with six speeds transfers the engine's power into the rear-wheel drive.

    Dimensions

    • Measuring 95.7 inches wide, 76.8 inches tall and 226.8 inches long, the Ford F350 clears the ground by 7.1 inches. The wheelbase is 137.4 inches. The front tires are 7.7 inches wide with 4.6 inch high sidewalls fit to 16-inch diameter wheels. The back tires are 8.1 inches wide with a 4.9-inch sidewall height and fit to 15-inch diameter wheels. Inside the vehicle there are 40.9 inches of front leg room and a total of 1,176 gallons of passenger volume. The vehicle weighs 3,783.1 pounds. It can tow 13,809 pounds and has a maximum weight of 6,111 pounds with a load. A full tank can hold 38 gallons of gas. The truck gets 38.6 mpg.

    Brakes and Steering

    • Front ventilated discs handle one half of the truck's braking duties. Rear drums provide the rest of the stopping power. The F350 is fitted with an anti-lock braking system to prevent the wheels from locking up as the vehicle brakes. With a turning circle of 622 inches, the Ford is equipped with traction control and an electronic stabilization program.
