- 1). Remove the head unit. Pry off the dash covering for the head unit carefully then unscrew the head unit from the dash mounting. Locate the subwoofer output RCA (Radio Corporation of America) stereo ports on the back of the dash.
- 2). Plug the RCA audio cables into the stereo ports on the head unit. Make sure that the colors of the port and the cable match up. RCA stereo connectors are always red and white. Run this cable to the trunk of the car and replace the head unit back into the dash.
- 3). Connect the other end of the RCA cables to the "Audio Input" RCA ports on the amplifier. Again make sure that the colors of the connectors match.
- 4). Connect the speakers to the amplifier. Depending on the number of speakers, double the number of speaker wires will be required (both positive and negative connections). First connect one strip of speaker wire to the positive "Speaker Out" terminal on the amplifier. Connect the other end of this wire to the positive terminal on the subwoofer. Repeat this process for the negative terminal as well. Now one speaker is connected.
- 5). Repeat Step 4 using another "Speaker Out" terminal on the amplifier for each additional subwoofer being connected.
- 6). Run two lengths of power wire through the car from the battery to the trunk. Connect one wire to the positive "Power" terminal on the amplifier. Connect the other end of this wire to the positive terminal on the car's battery.
- 7). Connect the second power wire to the negative power terminal on the amplifier. Connect the other end of this wire to the negative terminal on the car's battery. Turn on the car and test the new stereo.
