  Located in Clearwater County, Idaho, Orofino derived its name from the Spanish words for "fine gold." The city was originally established as a gold mining camp; it later became the home to the Nez Perce Indian Reservation.
  
  Now, Orofino is a city with much to offer its visitors. While there, visitors can participate in activities such as fishing, attending various festivals and fairs or visiting the Nez Perce National Historic Park. In addition to having many fun activities and points of interest, Orofino offers many motel options as well.
  
  

White Pine Motel

• The White Pine Motel is a few miles from the Dworshak National Fish Hatchery. Guests can visit the hatchery and learn how rainbow trout, Chinook salmon and coho salmon are spawned and reared. The hatchery is open daily to visitors and offers guided tours of the facility and the surrounding natural habitat.
  
  In addition to offering the usual motel amenities, each room is outfitted with a refrigerator and a microwave. This motel is also unique because it is located along the historic Lewis and Clark Trail. Guests can arrange guided tours of the trail at the motel's reception desk. Riverside Motel

• The Riverside Motel is the only motel in Orofino that offers accommodation as well as a full-service tackle shop. As a result, this motel is a good choice for fishing enthusiasts.
  
  This motel offers rooms with either twin, double or queen beds, and the rooms have kitchenettes that are equipped with cookware. The motel also offers guide services, which includes fishing instruction and tutorials in cleaning and packaging fish. However, for guests that are not fishing enthusiasts, the Riverside is also located a few minutes from the Clearwater Historical Museum. All of the museum's exhibits are dedicated to highlighting Orofino's history, as well as Nez Perce Indian artifacts and gold mining tools. The Riverside Motel is smoke-free, and parking is free.

Konkolville Motel

• Like many of the travel accommodations in Orofino, the Konkolville Motel is surrounded by outdoor recreation space. Guests can hunt, ski, snowmobile, hike, swim and fish.
  
  However, this motel is unusual because it offers a guest kitchen and a "Grill Your Own Steak" dinner. The motel provides guests with a steak, which the guests grill themselves, along with a potato and salad. This is available Monday through Saturday. In addition to free dinner, the motel also serves free continental breakfast every morning. In addition to the typical motel amenities, the Konkolville has guest laundry facilities, a fish-cleaning station and nonsmoking rooms, as well as microwaves and refrigerators in each room.
