Mistakes in Bathroom Maintenance Can Lead to Major Headaches in the Future

Unless your bathroom is properly cleaned and maintained on a regular basis - with a specific focus on protecting all of the waterproof elements that work to contain shower water and moisture from getting into other areas of your home - you are just inviting a considerable amount of headaches and frustration that will come your way down the road.
In fact, according to a recent study, most bath remodelers and construction professionals who deal with bathroom projects on a regular basis has stated that almost all of the repair jobs that they have been called in to tackle could have been completely avoided if only the homeowners had spent a little bit of time cleaning and maintaining their bathroom.
With just a little bit of time each and every month - no more than 30 minutes or so - anyone has the ability to refresh their bathroom to a brand-new state, keeping those expensive remodeling projects at bay.
And I think we could all agree that this is in everyone's best interest, considering the fact that the global economy is not exactly on the rebound quite yet.
But what are the major areas that people are dropping the ball when it comes to bathroom maintenance, and how can you set aside just a little bit of time to refresh these areas on a regular basis? Verify that any and all seams in your shower are in the best possible condition This is maybe the most important detail then you need to focus on, and one that is all too easily overlooked on a regular basis.
You see, anywhere that the components used to create a waterproof shell on the inside of your shower - whether it's a vinyl, stone, tile, or some other material - join each other there is a potential for water to work itself into the joint and start to do damage at a rapid rate it These cracks, crevices, or other damages can start off as an almost microscopic issue - but one that will quickly snowball out of control faster than you would ever imagine.
It's essential that once a month you go through your shower with a flashlight, specifically paying attention to all of the different seams that has been treated with grout, caulk, or some other waterproof substance.
You need to verify that everything is exactly as it should be, and take care of any repairs as soon as humanly possible.
Make sure that your shower screen is in good health and still performing its duty This is another almost invisible area that people seem to ignore on a regular basis, only stopping to consider exactly what a shower screen is when they stub their toe on it.
The piece of rubber or synthetic have had access a barrier between your shower door and the base of your shower pan or bathtub, the truth is that after months and months of use and neglect the line scale and other components that are in your water supply can really take a toll on this piece of your shower - rendering it nearly useless and amazingly brittle.
Obviously, this allows water to escape in a million different areas - areas that quickly compound your water damage issues faster than most would assume.
It's always best that you squeegee your shower screen as soon as humanly possible after using your shower - but if that isn't going to work with your daily schedule and then you need to at the very least keep up proper maintenance with solutions designed to clean them.
Also, it's not a terrible idea to keep shower screen spares on hand, should you ever need to quickly replace one that has gone far too long without maintenance.
This is a relatively simple and straightforward job that most can accomplish all a narrow, but even if you need to call in a bath remodeler or construction worker to handle the job at least you'll have the shower screen spares specifically for your installation and won't have to pay any markup on them purchasing materials.
If you're able to take care of these two critical areas you should have no concerns whatsoever moving forward in regards to water damage and what it can do to your home from the inside out.
Obviously, this is not the be-all end-all list of shower and bathroom maintenance - but it is a fantastic start.
Pick up your shower screen spares today.
