Themed and special edition playing cards offer the potential for new angles on tricks. Based on the art of Annabel de Vetten, the Jill Deck features images from the artist's "Beautiful Strangers" series. While the number cards are fairly standard, the face cards feature sexy and scantily clad models, some holding guns in poses that evoke James Bond movie posters. The deck is also designed for magicians because it comes with gimmicked cards and markings.


Marked

By looking at the markings, which are subtle and fairly easy to recognize with practice, you can identify each card from its back.

The gimmicked cards for magic effects include: a duplicate joker with a punched out bullet hole; a duplicate topless female model on the queen of clubs (the model is clothed on the regular card); mis-indexed ace of diamonds/three of clubs; double faced card, queen of clubs/king of spades; double backed card and white ace of hearts.

The cards were printed on good stock. Unfortunately, the finish won't allow you to evenly fan the cards.

In the Cards

There is probably a good trick that can make use of these cards. Personally, I'll just stick with my Bicycle cards that I purchase from the local big box store.
