- 1). Maintain Zorro as an actively growing field grass ground cover, but not necessarily a green ground cover, by ensuring that a bare minimum of 10 inches of rainfall or the equivalent of applied irrigation is available each year.
- 2). Water Zorro grass growing as a mowed lawn or green grass ground cover with 1 inch of water each week as needed to keep the lower thatch and soil moist. Fast draining sandy soil or warm, dry climates may necessitate more water at more frequent intervals, roughly 1/2 inch of water every three days.
- 3). Irrigate the brown dormant lawn in summer with just 1/2 inch of water every three weeks to keep the crown and roots of the plants alive, until the weather cools, and the grass will green up again.
