- 1). Open the glass ornament by unscrewing the top.
- 2). Pour a line of thick paint into the opening of the ornament so that the paint coats along the inside of the glass.
- 3). Repeat the process of making lines with several colors so that the entire inside is mostly covered in paint.
- 4). To marbleize the colors, turn the ornament on its side and rotate so that the paint runs together. Allow to dry before reattaching the top of the ornament.
- 1). Gather small items that can fit into the opening of the glass ornament: feathers, beads, seeds, tinsel, lace, candy cane fragments or anything that strikes your fancy.
- 2). Open the ornament by unscrewing the top.
- 3). Insert the small objects. For a uniform look, only insert one type of item; for another effect, add different colors of the same item or layer different items.
- 1). Cut a triangular piece of red felt for Santa's hat. It should be wide enough to cover half of the glass ball as a "brim."
- 2). Glue the "hat" onto the ornament near the top. Mod Podge glue works well for this, though other craft glues may be used.
- 3). Glue cotton balls to cover the bottom of the brim and add a pom-pom to the tip of the triangle to finish Santa's hat.
- 4). Cut out two small, black circles from felt for eyes and glue them below the hat brim so that they sit symmetrically.
- 5). Use more cotton balls to add a beard below Santa's eyes, where his mouth would be. Cut out and glue two red felt circles to make rosy cheeks by attaching these above his beard.
