- 1). Cut a half-inch hole in one end of the shoebox. Insert the button.
- 2). Remove three-quarters inch of insulation from the wires on the buzzer and on the battery clip. Each will have one red and one black wire.
- 3). Slip the exposed end of the red wire attached to the battery clip through one of the holes on the metal contact attached to the button. Wind the bare wire around the metal and back onto itself. Twist to tighten and form a secure connection.
- 4). Wind the exposed end of the red wire attached to the buzzer through the other hole on the button.
- 5). Twist the bare ends of the black wires together. Wrap electrical tape around the twisted ends to form a more secure connection.
- 6). Attach the battery clip to the 9-volt battery. The buzzer should vibrate when you press the button. If not, check the red wire connections to make sure they are tight and in contact with the metal on the bottom of the button.
- 7). Tape all the wires to the inside of the box, making sure the buzzer is secure. Put a small amount of hot glue on the battery and attach it to the inside of the box. Allow glue to dry completely.
