- 1). Right-click on the Norton icon in the system tray in the lower-right corner of your desktop and choose "Open Norton Internet Security."
- 2). Click on the "Settings" button at the top of the Norton Internet Security configuration window.
- 3). Click on the "Network Settings" tab.
- 4). Scroll down to the "Smart Firewall" section and click on the "Configure" link next to "Program Control."
- 5). Highlight "Internet Explorer" from the list of programs and click the "Remove" button. If prompted, confirm your decision to remove IE from the protection list.
- 6). Launch Internet Explorer. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options."
- 7). Click the "Delete" button in the "Browsing history" section.
- 8). Click to place a check mark next to "Temporary Internet Files," "Cookies" and "History." Click "Delete."
