- Divide party guests into two teams with equal numbers of players and have them line up side by side. Fill two suitcases — one for each team — with disco clothes like bell-bottom pants, polyester shirts, Afro wigs, fake gold chains, bright scarves and platform shoes. Make sure the items are large enough for the kids to put on over their clothes. The first player for each team runs to the suitcase, puts on all the clothes and runs back to the next person in line. The first player removes the clothes he just put on so the second person in line can put them on. The second person then runs to the suitcase, takes off all the clothes, puts them back in the suitcase and runs to the back of the line. The game continues until everyone has had a turn putting on the clothes. The first team to have all team members finish wins.
- Each party guest finds a partner to dance with. Give each couple a page from a newspaper, making sure that each piece is the same size. The couples place the newspaper on the floor while dancing to disco music around the newspaper. Someone should be in charge of playing and stopping the music. Each time the music stops, the couples stand on top of their newspaper. The couples then fold the newspapers once. When the music starts, the couples start dancing again and then step back on the newspaper when the music stops. Each time the music stops, the couples fold the newspaper. The couple who can stand on the smallest piece of paper without any part of their feet touching the floor outside the newspaper wins.
- Challenge friends to a singing game by singing karaoke to disco music. Choose three people who act as judges, scoring each person who sings using a point system of your choice. For example, you can judge the singers on how well they sing, how well they know the songs and on how well they present the songs. The judges can also award singers an overall number of points. The singer with the most points wins the game.
- Write down words, songs and movies from the disco era. Play a game of charades using these words. Divide players into two teams and have them guess words and phrases such as "disco ball," "groovy," "The Hustle," "The Bump," "The Bee Gees," "Village People" and "Staying Alive." The teams must use actions without any words to try to get their teammates to guess the words. The team with the most correct answers after a set number of rounds wins the game. Play as long as everyone is having fun!
