- 1). Choose an image you want printed on a mug. This can be a photo, a logo, or a graphic design. If you are using photos or artwork created by someone else and you intend to sell the mug, make sure you have permission to use the artwork for commercial use. If the image is not saved as a JPEG, TIFF, or GIF file, you will likely need to convert it.
- 2). Find a service that can print your image on a mug. Zazzle and Cafe Press are two online services, but you can likely find print shops in your town that will do this as well. Check which image file types they accept, and the resolution needed to obtain a clear print on the mug.
- 3). Upload your images to the website you've chosen, or email your images to a print shop. Alternately you can burn the images to a disc or save them on a flash drive and take them to the print shop.
- 4). View a proof of the image on a mug before you follow through with the order. Make sure you know how the image will sit on the mug and make adjustments, if necessary.
- 5). Pay for the mug and select a method of delivery. After you pay, the mug will be printed and delivered to you or be waiting for you to pick it up. Waiting times can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
