Saturate a cotton ball with witch hazel. Squeeze out the excess, then rub the witch hazel over the area affected by razor bumps. Witch hazel helps to dissolve the thin skin layer that traps ingrown hairs, effectively releasing the hair and allowing the razor bump to heal. - 2). Dry your skin with a clean towel, then dab some hydrocortisone cream on the razor bumps. Hydorcortisone cream will reduce the redness and relieve the itching caused by the skin irritation.
- 3). Treat long-term razor bump issues with 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is commonly used to treat acne but can lessen the appearance and irritation of razor bumps, while decreasing the chance that they will return.
- 4). Wear loose, comfortable clothing if the razor bumps are on your legs or in the bikini area. Tight clothing will chafe against the razor bumps and cause more irritation.
