- 1). Take your items to a consignment shop. Consignment shops provide a way to sell your baby things without the hassle of selling them yourself. Drop your stuff off, and collect your profit when an item sells. The shop will unpack your items, hang them up and deal with customers. You will even benefit from the shop's advertising. The downside is that you will only receive a portion of your profit because you must share it with the store.
- 2). List your items on an auction or classified ad website. Auction and classified ad websites like eBay and Craigslist allow you to advertise your items locally and nationwide. Most auction websites charge fees even if your item does not sell. Classified ad websites usually allow you to post your item for free, meaning you get to keep all of your profit. The downside is that you must deal with all aspects of selling the item, including customer service and shipping.
- 3). Sign up for a children's sale or fair. These types of sales are a good middle ground between selling the item yourself and taking it to a consignment shop. Tag your items, put the clothing on hangers and drop everything off at the sale. The volunteers will hang up your clothes, put your other items on display and deal with customers and payment. You pick up the items that don't sell and receive a check for those that do. You will pay a fee, but it likely will not be as high as that of a consignment shop. The downside is that these sales are usually a once- or twice-a-year event that lasts for only a few days.
