                       AR Rahman performs for Dalai Lama
Music Maestro A.R.Rahman will perform at Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's One World Concert, a historic celebration of peace, music and common ground in Syracuse University's Carrier Dome. The concert will feature a diverse roster of internationally renowned and loved stars across a wide array of genres, underscoring the universality of the Dalai Lama's message and goal of peace. The panelists included human rights advocate Martin Luther King III; Nobel Peace laureate and Iranian human rights lawyer Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Peace laureate and former director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei; and director of the Moral Courage Project at New York University's School of Public Service Irshad Manji.
Sridevi may get Padma Award
Yesteryear Actress and beauty queen of Bollywood and South Indian Film Industry Sridevi's name was recommended for prestigious ‘Padma' award by the Maharashtra Government. The actress who created sensation in the film industry by her acting skills and beauty still looks younger if anybody see her latest hit movie ‘English Vinglish' in which she showed her beauty and acting skills. Her name was sent to Jury committee which is examining and finalised for the award shortly. It is sure that she would get Padma award for her evergreen acting in the Indian film Industry. Sridevi has already got several awards for her acting in the movies.
Pakisthani folk musician Arif Lohar, who is already famous here with his Jugni song in Saif Ali Khan's film Cocktail, says he would love to collaborate with AR Rahman in future. Arif feels that artists can build bridges between the two countries and says he would like to work with Indian musicians. He said, it would be my luck to work with Indian artists as I love every colour and style as a folk singer. Among the Indian musicians, I wish to sing for A R Rahman if I ever get a chance
Rajini's big heart
We are all know that Superstar Rajinikanth is a big devotee of Sri Raghavandra Swami, latest news is that the actor has made a donation of Rs 10 crores to ‘Sri Raghavendra Swami's shrine' in Manthralayam. The actor has been a regular visitor of the temple for quite some time including his birthdays. A press note informing Rajini's generous donation was released by the concerned authorities. All the old buildings on the back of the Sarvagnya Mandir in this Raghavendra shrine in Mantralayam, would be dismantled and 25 fresh A/C cottages and 100 general rooms would be constructed. A beautiful garden would also be built with the remaining funds.
