Courage and Valor: Military Honors

When soldiers in the military complete an important task or accomplish a great feat they are granted certain awards and honors.
For example, a soldier who completes a certain hard-to-finish training or boot camp can receive a 'challenge coin' as a commemoration for completion.
These honors and awards are well deserved by the men and women who fight so valiantly for our nations security.
Military honors are given to the best and most courageous soldiers.
Honors are earned though valor on the battle field and courage at home while training.
The highest honor that can be received by a soldier is the Medal of Honor.
It is often referred to as to as the Congressional Medal of Honor and is awarded for "gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty".
The Purple Heart is awarded for great risk of life on the battle field and is usually given posthumously when a soldier is killed in the line of duty.
Families accept these awards in honor of their lost loved ones.
Receiving deserving awards to soldiers for tasks completed in the line of duty is part of what makes American soldiers the best in the world.
United States soldiers are valorous and perform courageously in most every situation, both in the line of battle and at home in training.
They deserve to receive honors for a job well done.
The system in place for such awards effectively recognizes soldiers and officers who perform tasks with utmost dignity and valor.
