- 1). Place a large donation bucket at the door where you plan to sell the tickets. Place a colorful sign on the bucket requesting that attendees donate their change from ticket sales. Ask each attendee if he/she wants change or prefers to donate it to the veterans. (See reference 1.)
- 2). Offer attendees small gifts in exchange for their donations. Offer small American flags or pins in exchange for donations of $1 or more. Place a container of flags or pins on a table with large colorful posters that invite attendees to donate to receive their memento gifts. (See reference 2.)
- 3). Solicit donation of an item (or a number of items) that you can raffle at the dinner. Sell raffle tickets before and during the dinner. Select the winner by drawing tickets from a box placed near the raffle item. (See reference 3.)
