- 1). Attach the clutch assembly, brake disk and drive pinion(s) to the output shaft of the nitro engine.
- 2). Attach the exhaust gasket and muffler to the engine. Set the engine aside.
- 3). Assemble the transmission(s). (Four-wheel drive models use two transmissions.)
Install the differential(s). Coat all gears with grease. Lube all bearings with oil. - 4). Attach the transmission(s) to the chassis.
Install the 4-wheel drive belt, if so equipped. - 5). Mount the brake assembly to the chassis. Verify movement of the calipers from the brake actuator arm.
- 6). Assemble the suspension components. Attach the suspension mounts to the chassis. Locate the suspension arms to mounts and install hinge pins.
- 7). Locate the front and rear suspension/bearing hubs to suspension arms. Install hinge pins.
- 8). Snap the hub bearings into the suspension hubs.
- 9). Attach the tie-rods to the suspension-hub ball joints.
- 10
Attach the in-board shock absorber mounts to the front and rear transmission/bulkhead assemblies. - 11
Lube and install the drive shafts. Insert the axle end into the hub. - 12
Mount the steering assembly. Tighten down the screws, but do not inhibit free movement of the swing arms. - 13
Install the upper deck/radio tray. Attach it to the lower chassis with screws. - 14
Mount the fuel tank to the upper deck and main chassis. Do not over-tighten the screws. - 15
Attach the tie rods to the in-board pivot points. - 16
Attach shock absorbers to the suspension arms and upper mounts. Check for smooth movement. - 17
Install the radio control hardware. Attach the steering servo to the steering assembly. - 18
Install the throttle servo to the upper deck/radio tray and connect the throttle/brake linkage to the servo horn. - 19
Mount the R/C receiver to the upper deck/radio tray using double-sided tape. Connect the steering and throttle servo plugs to the mounted receiver. - 20
Mount the receiver antenna. - 21
Install the nitro engine. Attach the throttle/brake linkage to the carburetor. - 22
Clean the tires with motor spray and glue them to all four rims using super glue. - 23
Wash out, dry, and paint the Lexan R/C body from the inside using paint designed for polycarbonate surfaces. - 24
Fill the fuel tank, connect the starting equipment, and break-in the engine. - 25
Verify proper radio equipment function. Make sure a "left turn command" turns the wheels left, that "throttle-up" increases engine speed, and so forth.
