Overview
Robins Air Force Base is a major United States Air Force base located in Houston County, Georgia. The base is located just east of and adjacent to the city of Warner Robins, Georgia, 18 miles SSE of Macon, Georgia, and about 100 miles SSE of Atlanta, Georgia. The base is named in honor of Brig Gen Augustine Warner Robins, the Air Force's "father of logistics".
Robins AFB is the home of the Air Force Materiel Command's Warner Robins Air Logistics Center which is the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, missiles, software and avionics and accessories components.
It is one of three Air Force Air Logistic Centers, the others being Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC) at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma and Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
A wide variety of organizations make up this huge airfield and industrial complex. The largest is the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, one of three major air logistics centers in the Air Force Materiel Command. The center is the largest industrial complex in Georgia and employs more than 24,000 workers?including civilians, active duty military members, non-appropriated fund employees and contractors. The base covers more than 8,722 acres, including Georgia's largest runway at 12,000 feet long by 300 feet wide with two 1,000- foot overruns.
Robins AFB is also home to the Museum of Aviation. The museum, located adjacent to the base since November 1984, has developed into a major tourist attraction.

Robins AFB is located in Middle Georgia, 100 miles south of Atlanta and 16 miles south of Macon.
If coming from Middle Georgia Regional Airport it is 8.1 miles. Transportation by commercial taxi is available, or you may contact the base transportation office at 478-926-3493.
If arriving from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia to Robins AFB the total distance is 98.8 miles.
If you are flying into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport ground transportation is available through Groome Transportation. You must be 21 years of age to rent a car from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Newcomers who arrive in their vehicles will more than likely be traveling on Interstate 75. Take exit 146, to Georgia Highway 247 Connector, also called Centerville/Watson Boulevard(east) or take exit 144, to Russell Parkway (east), and the roads will take you directly to the base, about 10 miles.

The host unit at Robins AFB is the 78th Air Base Wing (78 ABW) which provides services and support for the Warner-Robins Air Logistics Center and is host to over 40 separate hosted organizations.
Robins Air Force Base is the largest industrial complex in Georgia. It is situated on 8,722 acres and contains more than 14 million square feet of facilities. Robins employs more than 20,000 contractors, military members, and DoD civilian service workers.
Temporary Lodging
At Robins AFB the Pine Oaks Lodge located in Bldg 557, across from the Officers' Club on Club Drive, handles accommodations for temporary lodging. Reservations may be requested by contacting the Pine Oaks Lodge at DSN 312-468-2100 or 478-926-2100.
Robins Lodging consists of: 13 DV Suites, 124 VQs, 68 VAQs, 50 TLFs and 10 TLF units designated for pets. Reservations are on a first serve basis. Space Available reservations fall under the following conditions: TLF- 3 days in advance for a three-day stay, DVQ - 3 days in advance for a three-day stay and VQ - 14 days in advance for a three-day stay.
Space available reservations can be made 24 hours in advance for weekday stays (Mon-Thurs) for a maximum of 3 days and for weekend stays they may be made 10 days in advance (Fri-Sun) for a maximum of 3 days.Reservations may be made for up to 30 days if space is available.
Travelers on TDY orders are not authorized to make their own commercial quarters reservations directly with local commercial lodging facilities, you must contact Pine Oaks Lodging. If there is no availability, lodging will make commercial quarters (CQs) reservations for you. You may go directly to your hotel. Members in PCS/TLA status: If lodging does not have room availability on base, members are provided a non-availability (N/A) letter from lodging. Once a N/A letter has been issued, the member may make their own arrangements
If quarters are not available on base, the office will provide a list of local motels.
Camping Reservation Office/FAMCAMP is available with full hookups, showers, restroom and laundry facilities 20 and 30 amp service at all sites and five spots have 50 amp service.Rates are $12 per night, $77 per week, $285 for 30 days.Camp sites are in a pine forest setting, close to several ponds, and there is 24 hour access.
Housing
There are several choices of military housing based on availability and rank at Robins AFB. The Robins housing office staff will answer questions about on and off-base housing. Housing floor plans, area maps, and local rental and sales listings are all available at the housing office, Building 706. Call (478) 926-3776 or DSN 468-3776.
There are 807 government- owned family houses and 670 privatized houses at Robins AFB, a total of 1,477 houses.
The base has 213 allocated for officers and 1,264 are for ranks E-1 through E-9. The base has two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes for every category of entitlement. All units have central air conditioning and carports, and are furnished with stoves, refrigerators, garbage disposals, and dishwashers. To put your name on the wait list prior to your arrival, submit an advance application (DD Form 1746). The effective date of advance applications is the first day of the month prior to the month the applicant states he or she will arrive at the gaining installation (the actual reporting or "sign-in" month). Members may, of course, apply for housing at any time after you report.
Privatized housing, offered at Huntington Village, provides another alternative to military families. The Huntington Village community is designed to be a safe, secure and comfortable environment for the families of Robins Air Force Base. Every home at Huntington Village is of quality construction and comes complete with an array of contemporary amenities.
The village is minutes from Robins Air Force Base with easy access to three different base gates. Rent is based on the military member's rank with a utility allowance subtracted from your basic allowance for housing. Residents are responsible for paying gas and electric utilities. Huntington Village takes care of water, sewage, trash and pest control as well as lawn care (unless residents put up a fence).
Robins AFB also has nine dormitories accommodating up to 674 single enlisted members. Four of the dorms have been renovated to a one-plus-one configuration, which feature private rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The shared kitchens are equipped with stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves. The other five dormitories are in a room-bathroom-room configuration. Each private room has refrigerators and microwaves. Every dormitory has laundry rooms, dayrooms and recreation areas. Five dorms have an exercise room equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Typical room furnishings include beds, nightstands, dressers, desks, chairs, microwaves, and refrigerators.
There is no unaccompanied officer housing at Robins. All unaccompanied E-1 through E-4s with less than 3 years of service are required to live in the dorms according to Air Force policy. Other grades are housed in the dorms on a space-available basis. Dorm assignments will be made as arriving members process through the Dorm Management Office in Dorm 780. Child Care
Robins AFB Child Development Centers offer child care services for children six weeks through five years of age. The program is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs and certified by the Department of Defense and the Department of the Air Force. The goal is to offer children of active duty military and Department of Defense civilians a safe, healthy, and loving environment while away from parents and home.
There are 2 Child Development Centers on Robins AFB: CDC East - Telephone: 478-926-5805 or DSN 312-468-5805 and CDC West - Telephone: 478-926-3080 or DSN 312-468-3080.
The centers are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
The program offers various services, including full-day care, hourly care, after hours care, part-day preschool and before-and-after school (BAS) care. Evening care is offered once a month.
Registration may be completed by filling out a DD Form 2606, to place your child's name on the child care waiting list in advance of your departure to Robins AFB. To do so check with the CDC at your present location for an application.
Active duty personnel, DOD civilians and contractors assigned to the installation are eligible for service.
The Family Child Care Program offers child care in a licensed family setting by providers living in base housing. These self-employed providers operate their home independently in compliance with strict Air Force policies, including frequent inspections and close monitoring by the Family Child Care staff. Children ages two weeks to twelve years of active duty military and Department of Defense civilians are eligible for care.

Robins AFB is home to one DDESS school, Robins AFB Elementary School.
Student registration takes place during school hours and during the summer months from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. during the work week. Registration Information for Robins Elementary School can be found by contacting the School Office at 478-926-5003.
For Children to be eligible to attend Robins Elementary School, they must: Reside on Federal Property (there are two exceptions to this: When a member of the Armed Forces is transferred or retires and the member's family moves after the start of theschool year from on-base housing and when a member of the Armed Forces is assigned to an installation on which there is a DDESS School and is assigned on-base family housing that is expected to be available for occupancy and to be occupied within 90 days from the reporting date, the member's children may be permitted to attend the school while residing in an area adjacent to such Federal property) and meet the age requirements.
In addition, a Georgia Department of Human Resources Certificate of Ear, Eye and Dental Examination is required for all new enrollees. Both forms may be obtained at the Base Medical Clinic. A reasonable amount of time will be permitted for the two forms to be turned in to the school. No extension will be granted beyond 30 days. Students enrolling in Robins Elementary School who have previously attended another school should present a record of scholastic progress and attendance.

The Houston County After School Program provides quality supervision for children enrolled in Pre-k through fifth grade until 6:00 p.m. each day that school is in session.
Students residing in the Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) will attend the following Houston County public schools: Grades Pre-K through 5: Linwood Elementary School, Grades 6 through 8: Northside Middle School and Grades 9 through 12: Northside High School.
Bus service for students attending their home schools is provided from bus stops at specific locations.
The 78th Medical Group provides healthcare services for more than 47,000 military and civilian personnel maintaining a ready and healthy total force.
The 78th Medical Group does not have emergency services/emergency room. Ambulance service is provided by Houston County Medical Center from 7 am until 6 pm, Monday-Friday, from their on-base location at the 78th Medical Group. All other times they respond from off-base.
