Several, dare I say, most performers are their own worst enemies when it involves obtaining the part. They create obstacles from their own self doubt which they place in front of themselves at audition time. Its a small amount like that recent saying - if you set yourself up to fail then it doesnt hurt therefore a lot of when you do!

Change your attitude to auditions and amendment your luck at casting time. Really, in an exceedingly nutshell, it's that simple. But, this text wouldnt be of a lot of worth if I left it at that currently wouldn't it! (But its still true! )

You'd be amazed at how several individuals have crossed my path as a casting director who aren't just unprepared for the audition process, however who sadly believe that they deserved the half - despite their clear lack of effort in preparation.

You have probably run into them yourself if you have ever auditioned before. The folks who assume that but they audition they can get the half based on the means they give the impression of being, the approach they flirt with the director, the fact that they have forever played the lead before etc.etc.

DUH! WRONG!

If youre reading this though Ill assume you're clearly not one of these people, (or even you're a reformed past offender), and you are on the correct track.

Before we tend to continue, but, I wish you to create me a promise. I dont care what you're auditioning for - and I strongly counsel you audition for as a lot of as possible because at the end of the day winning auditions may be a numbers game (more of that later).

The promise I wish you to make to yourself currently is this:

After you visit your next audition you wont simply TRY your best youll DO your best. Which means putting into apply EVERYTHING youre about to learn. Creating changes where you need to alter and practicing where you would like to practice.

I can already hear you saying Ill strive however lets be honest here - Ill attempt wont cut it.

Thats the thing see. You'llt just try. You either do it or you dont do it. Theres no area for doubt. So promise me this: theres no room for the word TRY in your pursuit of audition success. Either you are going to DO what's required and turn up for your next audition ready to succeed and DOING things right otherwise youll just be wasting yours and your would be directors time and could as well stop reading currently!

From this time on we tend to are will continually refer to Auditions not TRY OUTS. Because we have a tendency to aren't going to be Tryers - we tend to are visiting be Do-ers. Auditionees. Well informed, assured capable and prepared to succeed.

Rule one - You deserve to urge the part therefore believe in yourself - because if you dont they wont.
