€O.K, Honey, let's go! It's time to get rolling on our vacation€
Sweet words to the ear, aren't they? Vacations are the pie-ala-mode for the working force. There are so many ways to vacation. One of my favorites is the €three-day vacation€, which usually happens on a weekend. It's even better if you can get away by two or three in the afternoon on Thursday. A three-day weekend is perfect to visit your cottage in the woods or on the shore of a lake. Or just visit a pretty town you've heard about.
Now, if your employment includes a set number of weeks each year for vacationing, you could go anywhere. And that's just the first week of three or four.
A cool trick is to purchase a €time share€ at your favorite location. These usually run about $25,000, but it's well worth it, because your purchase price is for life, like buying a house, except you €own it€ for one or two weeks each year. So, each time share has numerous owners, usually fifty.
The greatest opportunity is joining a company like RCI Corp, which allows you, for a small fee, about $70, to trade your week to any one of the many thousands of other time shares. Therefore, you can visit a different area of the world, even a different country, each year.
Railroad trips are a perfect way to see the United States. Booking a trip in New York, for example and riding all the way across the country allows you to take advantage of the many train stops at cities that you've always wanted to see. The train trip includes berths for sleeping and fine meals in the dining car, usually
prepared by executive chefs. Wouldn't it be wonderful to visit Alaska for your first time. The trains can arrange this. Where the trains can't go, buses will take you, all mannaged by the railroad company.
It's even possible to arrange with the railroad to break up your trip into smaller trips so that you can spend a week here and there as you travel across the country.
Cruising is another vacation option. Cruise ships now travel all over the world. Prices vary according to your chosen destination and the kind of accommodations you desire. The ultimate cruise, however, is to charter a small sailboat or diesel yacht. Charters last about ten days and you can hire a captain to operate the boat or captain it yourself.
When chartering a yacht, a twin diesel yacht, for instance, one typically orders food for the entire charter. This proves hilarious to see porters wheeling all that food to your boat and then you have to stow it so that you remember where you put it. Very often, what's left over after the end of the charter is a tip for the locals who clean up the boat for the next lucky charterers.
