• Squaw Creek Park is a 692-acre park in Marion, Iowa, that offers camping, nature study, outdoor activities, hiking and picnicking. The park is home to a diverse population of wildlife and boasts one of the largest, most well-equipped campsites in the region. Prairie Oak Lodge

• The Prairie Oak Lodge, which opened in 2004, is the largest enclosed lodge in the Linn County Park system. It holds up to 225 people and has additional space available outside on its patio. The lodge isn't air-conditioned, but it offers a full kitchen, in-floor heating, parking, indoor restrooms, fireplace, sports field and proximity to golfing and sledding. It is on the main road in Squaw Creek Park. As of September 2010, rates begin at $310 per day on weekends and $205 per day on weekdays, with an additional charge of $30 if the number of people exceeds 75. Red Cedar Lodge

• Red Cedar Lodge is a year-round event facility built in 1975 as a winter ski lodge at Squaw Creek Park. It is past the Prairie Oak Lodge about a mile from the entrance to the park. Red Cedar Lodge seats about 100 people with additional room outdoors. The lodge has no air-conditioning, but features a full kitchen, furnace heating, parking, indoor restrooms, horseshoe courts, downhill skiing area and proximity to the golf course. As of September 2010, rates begin at $210 per day on weekends and $150 per day on weekdays, with an additional charge of $30 if the number of people exceeds 75. You can rent the facility for events for an additional fee.

Meadowlark Shelter

• Meadowlark Shelter is a large, open shelter with adjacent parking area available for reservation for events in Squaw Creek Park. The shelter holds 100 people--up to 500 in good weather--and features grills, picnic tables, electrical outlets, horseshoe courts, drinking water and a nearby restroom. The shelter is near the golf course and campground and is open from April to October. As of September 2010, rates begin at $50 per day on weekends and $35 per day on weekdays, with an additional charge of $30 if the number of people exceeds 75.
