- 1). Pour your regular shampoo into one hand after wetting your hair. Mix in 10 drops of pure tea tree essential oil and stir thoroughly.
- 2). Lather your hair with the shampoo and tea tree oil mixture. Cover all of your hair with the mixture. Rinse your hair thoroughly and repeat the process.
- 3). Add five drops of tea tree oil to your regular conditioner. Leave the conditioner on your hair for three to five minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
- 4). Use a nit comb to comb all of the nits out of your hair. The tea tree oil should help to soften the nits' grip on your hair, making it easier to remove them during combing.
- 5). Wash with tea tree oil and shampoo mixture three to four times a week until the infestation is eliminated. Repeat this process as needed to keep the infestation at bay.
- 6). Mix 10 to 15 drops of tea tree oil into 2 cups of water. Use a spray bottle to dowse hair, furniture, clothing and more to repel lice.
