How to Make a Faux Castle

  • 1). Use a box cutter to cut out five squares from a piece of foam board. Cut each side of each square to the same length and width. Four of these pieces will form the wall of the castle and one will serve as the floor of the castle.

  • 2). Squeeze grout onto one side of each piece of foam in the shape of bricks. Do not disturb the grout until it has hardened.

  • 3). Spread a thin layer of glue on each of the foam pieces using a paintbrush. Sprinkle sand on top of the glue. This will give the walls the look of stone. Do not handle the walls until the glue has completely dried.

  • 4). Use a box cutter to cut out the shape of an arched doorway from the edge of one of the pieces of foam.

  • 5). Attach the walls of the castle end to end using glue. The four walls will form an enclosure.

  • 6). Squirt a line of glue around the perimeter of the castle floor. Set the enclosure on top of the floor. Do not move the castle until the glue has dried.
