Natural Relief for Shingles

    Apple Cider Vinegar

    • Apple cider vinegar can be used for two main purposes on individuals with shingles. Applying the apple cider vinegar with a small cloth to the affected areas allow the blisters to heal more rapidly. The apple cider vinegar also can be used to relieve pain.

    Vitamin C

    • Maintaining a healthy diet and getting a lot of sleep is important for individuals with shingles. It helps keep your immune system strong and fighting, which will help the shingles clear faster. Shingles patients should take between 2,000 and 4,000 mg of vitamin C every day to help boost the immune system.

    Cayenne Pepper and Aloe Vera Gel

    • Mix a small equal amount of cayenne pepper and aloe vera gel. Applying this concoction to the affected area provides immediate relief for patients with shingles.

    MSM

    • MSM is an all natural supplement used to relieve pain. For individuals who do not prefer to take traditional over-the-counter pain relievers, taking two doses of 1,000 mg MSM will substitute and help with pain management.

    Lysine

    • Lysine may be taken to prevent the absorption of arginine, which is what shingles needs to stay active within the body. Individuals can take up to three 1,000 mg doses a day.

    Warning

    • As with all natural and traditional methods, different things work for different people. Try out the listed suggestions, but if something is causing you pain or discomfort, do not continue to use it. Remember that the chickenpox virus and the shingles virus are the same. While the sores are still open, avoid contact with anyone who has not yet had chickenpox. Newborn babies and pregnant women should not be exposed to the virus, as it is very dangerous for developing babies.
